Aerilaya jumped off a table and into a crowd.
“She’s doing it again,” Alosrin said to Kailu.
“I warned to watch her when she drank. She does the dumbest stunts. I can’t tell if it’s #potvalor or something else.” Kailu replied.
“How often does this happen?”
“More often than it should, stiff.” The younger elf answered while taking a sip of mead.
Letting out a sigh, he rose from his seat and walked over to the Snow Elf, who was downing her 8th mug of mead.
“Come on. You and I both know this will resolve nothing.”
He gently grabbed her arm and draped it over his shoulders.
The crowd became disappointed and upset that their entertainment for the evening was going away.
Alosrin shook his head as he slammed down his mug to get their attention.
“So, you become disgusted when a human acts like this, yet you’re perfectly fine with an elf making a fool of themselves? Hypocrites.” He rolled his eyes before leaving a now guilt-ridden group.
Walking into the inn room, he saw Kailu struggling with Aerilaya, who was trying to jump out a window while shouting “I can fly.”
“That’s enough,” Alosrin whispered as he used the levitation spell she taught him earlier in the day.
He questioned what was running through her mind, but knew better to wait until the dawn and for her to sober up.
The two got her into the bed without too much resistance before wishing the other good night.
“What am I going to do with you?” Alosrin joked as he sat at the edge of the bed.
“Don’t allow me to drink is what you can do,” Aerilaya mumbled as she turned to him.
He let out a slight laugh.
“I can at least try to assist with that,” Alosrin said in a joking manner before his face became serious. “But I have to ask. Why do you drink in excess like that?”
Silence fell as the sounds of crickets chirped, and the owls called.
“To dull the pain.” She whispered as her face became pained.
Alosrin frowned as he hugged her.
“We better work on this. As I don't want you to hurt yourself." Noting the bruises.
"But that can wait until morning.”
He whispered as she had fallen asleep in his arms.
