Aerilaya tapped her Lirniidae's feather quill while filling out papers as she sat at a large marble obsidian desk. "How Adar and Naneth did this on a daily basis is beyond me." The Snow Elf Princess grumbled to herself as her advisor came in with more paperwork. She slumped her head as a quiet groan escaped her lips. This was one type of work she wasn't accustomed to, yet she understood where it was all coming from. Aerilaya's Adar was killed, by her so-called brother. The same could be said about her Naneth, but just like with her paternal grandparents it was up for debate if they were still alive or not in their stone tombs.
Alosrin was walking towards her office as he had finished his day's work with the Shadow Elves and helped out here and there with the Snow Elves and their problems when he arrived. He knew how stressed Aerilaya could become when overloaded with work. She was always liked that even when they were children. He gently knocked on the brass door when arriving at his destination. She didn't respond or notice he was there as her nose was buried deep into a thick packet of papers regarding housing and were to get more property for the people.
"Hey, Loss Iote?" Alosrin said, gently by calling her by her childhood nickname causing her to look up from the giant and ever-growing stacks of papers. "Hm? Oh, Gwathren ithil. When did you get here?" It was apparent she had no concept of what time it was. It was half-past 5 and it was around the time he came to check on her. He gave her a sympathetic look when walking over. "Why don't you take a break? I know where we can go to relieve some of that stress." Alosrin offered as she shook her head. As Aerilaya was about to protest, he'd already grabbed her hand and lifted her from the chair in a gentle manner. "Come on, you've been indoors for months. You need to get some fresh air."
The two of them walked outside towards the Dragon Pens where Andulnir and Urirn were. The weather on the Taiga Mountains was calm for once, which was rare for the area due to the weather's ecosystem being tampered with through Moon Elves' Magic. "Hey, are two up for a flight and some time at the Forest Elves' Glade's Meadows for a few hours?" Alosrin asked the Nebula and Frost Dragons, who's faces split with happy grins while nodded enthusiastically. Andulnir and Urirn hadn't done much flying in months and they felt it was going to be a great way to blow off some steam.
He and Aerilaya got onto Andulnir's back. Once they were settled he clicked his tongue and they took off towards their destination as the cool evening air hit their faces. After several minutes the four were in a meadow filled with Dwarf Lake Irises, Lilies, Roses, and various other flowers as the sounds of the Varenlams River rushed over some rocks as the Twin Suns slowly set. Aerilaya leaned against him while resting her head on his shoulder with a smile across her face. "Thank you for this, Gwathren ithil. I appreciate it, but you do know we're going to be in trouble with Head Healer Glendhor again?" She whispered as attempted to keep herself steady despite Alosrin hold her as bandages peeked out from under her clothes.
