Prince Fayaris Lithrina is King Biryor and Queen Merialeth's oldest child and Princess Aerilaya's brother.
He's a brooding, always scheming Snow Elf that is hell-bent on bringing back Jandar and his puppet, Cidoflus. Fayaris is one of many minor antagonists to appear in the story, but unlike most who have a few scenes then killed off; he sticks around for a while.
Fayaris has a chip on his shoulder and is out to not only destroy his own kind but all elven life. No one knows the reason why he's like this, his father, King Biryor, believes it is nothing more than phase he's going through. Most in the kingdom know better than to believe this, especially after he sold them out to the enemy.
After King Biryor found out about this and having his wife and daughter flee the kingdom to keep them safe. He put him on dragon duty, which is a dangerous position to hold, and it was the highest punishment he could think of at the time to "put him in his place." This, however, did the opposite and fueled the betrayal fires.
