The Eternal Abyss is a great lake that connects with other major waterways.
This lake is also the home of Cyresis, the Lunar Oceanids' God, and several underwater ruins.
The lake is also the main source of water in the country; if something happens to the lake, everything else is affected.
Cyresis and the Goddess of Water and Storms, Auna, have an agreement/helping relationship for him and Lunar Oceanids to stay in Bolyra.
He and his worshippers weren't originally from the country. They used to live in a country called, Temperi. It was an underwater country with only a few islands dotting the land but as the underwater volcanos became more active and travelers that came to purge them of their resources, they fled.
This is when Cyresis blessed his followers with the ability to transition between land and sea to ensure they'd survive. Over time they found the river, Turtle Stream, in Bolyra and became a new resident, while living alongside the Shutiarine, a humanoid freshwater turtle species.
