Kailu is the tritagonist or third most important character of the story. He's first introduced in mention during a conversion between Thornton Sr. and Aerilaya. This elf is officially seen when Aerilaya leaves to return the Forest Elves' Race Stone.
Kailu is known for causing problems in Stoneguard's wealthy by building traps to trap and steal from them. While everyone knows of this, the problems still occur due to him using memory wipe spells, and most being none the wiser, except for Thornton Sr. and Aerilaya, who deal with his shenanigans.
Later on, he "volunteers" (blackmails) to come with Aerilaya and Alosrin on their journey to seek out the Race Stones and the Lazarus Moon Shadow. He originally comes with them to help wherever he's needed, but as the story progresses he realizes that he wants to learn more about himself and his family.
Kailu was originally born in Amyma Taesi, a small town in Helina, that used takes in refugees, until the town was destroyed by Moon Elves and Vernmer. The reason? A nameless couple, a Moon Elf and Vernmer, where discovered to have fled their clans in order to continue their relationship and start a family. This didn't sit well with the others as the three elf clans of Helina were notorious for their hatred towards each other.
These two nameless elves tried and failed on getting the three clans to see differently as it cost them their lives. In turn this nearly cost Kailu's life as well since the attackers threw him into the Grim Desert, but he was discovered and saved by a Tigris couple when returning from getting supplies in town.
These two tribe leaders, Dro’jirr and Kisa, raised him alongside their children until he decided to leave to explore the neighboring country, Bolyra at 18. During his travels comes across Stoneguard, a town that is near the Forest Elves' Glade, and where he takes up resident at the Thieves Guild with Aerilaya, Thornton Sr., and the others.
Kailu is a special character as he's unique both in appearance and in magical abilities. When it comes to appearances he has an olive skin tone, green hair with yellow tips, and hazel-green eyes. When it comes to magical abilities he's one of the rare few that knows Dark (both known and unknown/illegal), Earth, Nature, and Moon magic. He also has skills in building as mentioned earlier, but he doesn't put it to good use unless he has to. He does have an irresponsible streak early on, but he does slowly learns to take responsibility while discovering himself along the way. He's one character to keep an eye out for as the story is told.
