"#Emzekhlos were a #breathtaking #group of humanoid lop rabbits despite rarely coming up from their #holes in the ground. Some say they were rivals of the Metal Antylas in Helina. But since the country is closed off to most, one will never know the truth." Aerilaya said, reading from a book she had found during their last heist.
Kailu shrugged his shoulders. "They sound like their part of a fairytale to lull children to sleep, to me." He replied as Gideon, a Jinshuantyla, who was walking by overheard the conversation. "It's far from that, boyo. They are very much real." Gideon growled as he strode over to them. The 6 foot, straight eared rabbit looking man, glared at the mauve-colored book in Aerilaya's hands, who nervously handed it over to him. She knew deep down he wasn't a bad person. But whenever he had that look, it always spelled trouble if one didn't listen to his physical cues.
"Where did you find this, girly?" He asked in a gruff and demanding tone. "At that strange metal home where the only thing inside was a table, a kitchen, and a hole in the ground," Aerilaya replied as Gideon let out a short angry snort before hurrying along. The two elves looked at one another as the exit door opened and slammed shut.
"I have to wonder what his reason is for being here. And I thought no one of his clan was allowed to leave their warrens? Or Helina in general." Gideon thought himself as he hurried his steps. Enemies or not, he knew Ai wasn't going to survive on his own. Gideon prayed the Emzekhlo would listen to reason. He threw open the makeshift metal door and let out a gasp at the display before him.
There before him was a lifeless body of someone he once called a rival and a friend. The wounds on his body showed someone with wolf claws had gotten to them, which meant someone was hired to kill him. As he went to inspect the body, he saw over on his left on the kitchen counter a painting of the two with their slap-happy, competitive grins on their faces with their medals in their paw-like hands as his ears flattened back and tears escaped as reality had hit Gideon hard that he had just lost his rival and closet friend.
